Welcome
Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to third grade. I am very excited about having your child in my class this year. This year your child will transition from a primary to an intermediate program. They will assume more responsibility for their behavior and school work. They will have recess and lunch with the fourth and fifth graders. We will be working on organizational and lifelong learning skills.
Each week students will have a class newsletter. This will be sent home on Friday in their Friday Folders.
Please read this so you are aware of any important information.
Friday folders will be sent home with graded work from the week. This is yours to keep, and I encourage you to look over the work with your child so that there are no surprises when report cards come home. Friday Folders should be sent back every Monday with a parent’s signature letting me know you have seen their work.
Homework folders will come home daily. It will carry information to and from school. Please help your child stay organized by using the folder to transport relevant papers to and from school. Please check the homework folder daily for communications and any unfinished work that is due the next morning. If you have anything to send to school for me, have your child bring it in their homework folder.
Please review the Student handbook with your child and make sure you are familiar with all the information it contains. As parents, you are a vital link in your child’s education. I encourage you to talk with your child about what they are learning each day. If you have any question please feel free to call me at school (573-729-3902) or send me a note, and I will be happy to answer your questions or set up a conference.
Looking forward to a terrific year with third grade!
Sincerely,
Miss Todd
